I chose to stick to three colours throughout my college magazine so that it didn’t look too much in your face. I chose white and black because neither colour dominates but together they stand out. I also chose to use the colour purple, as it is a popular colour and it appeals to both sexes.
The magazine as a whole is really clear and easy to read and information can be sent across without having too many words. I also chose a font that was clear to read, but not too formal as I had to keep my audience interested in my product.
After research I chose to stick to a theme of Trips/events happening in and around college as 85% of students said they would like information about them.
I also wanted a mid shot of college students looking like they are having fun and enjoying college, as from my research students said they would like to see more pictures of college life.
Teenagers shorten a lot of words when they talk so I decided to name my magazine ‘Enorf’ instead of East Norfolk Sixth Form College Magazine’ as it is too long and students refer to the college with this name.
I put the college logo on my magazine so that it looks official to the college. I changed the colour of it on Photoshop to make it fit in with the colour scheme. I also restricted information on the front cover, so that students would be more likely to look inside to find out what is going on in college. The most important information is in capitals so attract the viewer’s attention and make it stand out from the rest of the text.
